Nutrition during the match — keep up the intensity from the 1st to the 90th minute
The dip at the 65th minute isn't inevitable — it's a sign that your body is running low on fuel. During a football match, your glycogen stores are gradually depleted and your concentration starts to fade well before your legs do. Footboks During-exercise products are designed to fuel your effort continuously, without interrupting play.
Gels you take in 5 seconds, electrolyte tablets to dissolve in your bottle, isotonic drinks at half-time: everything is designed for easy intake, quick digestion and an immediate effect. No bloating, no heaviness — just what your body needs to keep its level for 90 minutes.
All our products are Informed Sport certified and validated by professional Ligue 1 footballers and the French national futsal team. Discover our complete nutrition guide for footballers on the Footboks blog.
Frequently asked questions
What should you eat or drink during a football match?
During a match, favour fast carbohydrates in small doses: an energy gel at half-time, electrolytes in your bottle throughout the match, and possibly a light isotonic drink. Avoid anything solid or hard to digest mid-effort — the stomach receives less blood flow during intense activity and digestive discomfort can harm your performance.
How can you avoid an energy dip in the second half of a football match?
The key is to plan ahead before your reserves run out. Take an energy gel or a carbohydrate drink at half-time, even if you don't feel tired yet. Waiting for the dip before reacting is too late — carbohydrates take 15 to 20 minutes to be absorbed and to have an effect on available energy.
Are during-exercise products allowed in competition?
Yes. All products in this collection are Informed Sport certified — they have been tested by the LGC laboratory for substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. You can use them in official matches, in amateur and professional competition alike, with no anti-doping risk.
