Learn moreYoane Wissa: "Ligue 1 is a huge pride"
As the recovery approaches on the side of FC Lorient, we made a phone call to our godfather Yoane Wissa to come back with him on his title of champion, the rise of FC Lorient in Ligue 1, his now legendary celebration and his opinion on FOOTBOKS. The Merlus striker answered us in his characteristic style: lively, hard-hitting but always poised. Exclusive interview for FOOTBOKS. A zen type we told you Hi Yoane, so how are you?? I'm very well, thank you ! The weather is nice, football has resumed, we are well, health is fine, family too, and that is the most important thing today. You took over with the band? There we have the medical tests until Friday with the docs, we are going to do the COVID test, the isokinetic test, the cardio test, we are going to see the physiotherapists, the physical preparation, and the dentist. The complete start-of-season follow-up. We will resume next week with the group, starting Monday 22. Back on Monday so you feel good, you're ready? Yes, I'm ready, I'm also in a hurry to start a new season with new goals now that we are in Ligue 1! How did it feel to finish champion? Frankly, I am very very proud even if we would have liked to celebrate it on the ground with our public and everyone in good health. Events meant that we had to stop, but I remain very proud to have made the supporters happy, and above all to allow the club to return to Ligue 1. Can you tell me a word about the supporters this season? Ah they were present, they did not let us go. It must be said that we did the work on the ground and that we also gave everything but in any case I am in a hurry to find them in Ligue 1. How do you analyze the FC Lorient season?? It is obviously very positive on a collective level. We finished as Ligue 2 champions and we were on the podium 27 out of 28 days, so that's not nothing. But above all, we had a very good squad and I was very happy to evolve and manage to move up to Ligue 1 with this group. What made this group so strong this season?? The recruitment was very smart, since the players who arrived were all captains, so to speak. By that I mean players who all knew Ligue 2 and that was what made the difference: the experience. This year we had a lot more and we were better at it. The coach also had this experience of climbs, even in difficult times he showed us that we always had to be there and respond.s. You had a lot of offensive possibilities with you, Hamel, Bozok, Laurienté, Cabot, Kitala, Le Fée, Marvaux... it's a real offensive armada! It's true that we had a very good squad and that offensively we had a good range with a great diversity of profiles. This is our strength. Even those who were on the bench like me at one point in a few games, we were keen to show the others and the coach that they could count on us. You have just been elected in the 11 type of fans of Domino's Ligue 2, what did you do? It made me proud, I was really happy. It is the supporters who are watching us all, it is a look apart. Being elected by supporters is not like other votes. Let's hope it continues on this dynamic. Yann Kitala, Thomas Fontaine, Yoane Wissa and Armand Laurienté, the ZEN team. Photo FCL - Bruno Perrel How do you judge your season? She was positive. I am very happy with my performance because I played almost all the matches. Compared to last season, it's also a real personal revenge, I wanted to show the supporters that I was still there. You still finished as the club's best passer last season... Yes it is true, but it is in terms of efficiency that it is a revenge. Last season I got a lot of chances but I was not necessarily successful. This year, thanks to a lot of mental preparation and a desire to move forward, I managed to find this efficiency, so it's my revenge. What allows me to savor this year all the more is the rise in Ligue 1. I have stored up a lot of confidence, now I have to keep it and continue on this path. What does Ligue 1 do to you?? It's a bit of a dream come true. I have always watched Ligue 1 since childhood, so being there is a source of enormous pride, for me, for my family, for my town of Epinay sous Sénart, and I am very happy to be there, especially with my route, coming from below. Can you tell us about your Zen celebration? I took it out in the first game we played at home against the PFC. I had returned, I had scored and I had this celebration which means calm, the calm side and the fact of always remaining focused despite everything you can hear. How did it feel to see it taken over by a lot of players You plan to keep it for the coming season ? The PSG players did it but it was more to wait, afterwards, to see that Haaland did it in the Champions League, it's nice to see. After that it's not MY celebration, it's not me who created it either, but I'm glad that people know about it and that it has spread a little. For next season I will keep her, she represents me well! I got like that through hard work so I'll keep doing it for sure! THE Celebration of Yoane Wissa! Photo FCL - Bruno Perrel When you look at your journey so far, what do you say to yourself?? I tell myself that I have matured a lot. I come from National, I then landed in Angers where I did not play too much, with a loan to Laval. Then I bounced back in Ajaccio and I made the choice to come to Lorient for a great challenge and I continue with this big leap towards Ligue 1! What do you think of FOOTBOKS? I like it a lot because it's scalable, it's not a FOOTBOKS and it's over, it's for the long term. There are always new things and it really helps in the search for performance. It helps me when I need to recover well or regain strength at specific times. What does it bring you in the daily practice of high-level sport It gives me performance, clearly, and that's what I'm looking for. What I want is to last over time, and spare myself the slightest glitch, physical or mental. It also allows me to readjust certain elements, especially when we feel that we have too much or not enough charge. It also allows me to recover better with the treatments, I do a little more on the invisible work. It's something you control this invisible work Yes, for me it has become very important, and I have really evolved from that since last season, whether in my daily lifestyle or even in training. And this season is proof that it works, it really paid off. You have a favorite product? I think this is thearnica cream, I like little massages, it has done me good this season because I have played a lot of matches. But I know that Thomas Fontaine, he is a fan ofcaffeinated chewing gum ! I did my shadow work in the locker room! You have a message for those who would like to get into it Go for it, try it and you will see the benefits it gives you. Me it brings me a lot in my search for performance, it's the little extra in my invisible work.

Learn moreTimothée Dieng: "The championship can resume at any time"
Captain of the club Southend United in League One, the English 3rd division, Timothée Dieng, tells us about his confinement and how he is keeping in shape while awaiting a decision from the English football authorities concerning a possible resumption of competitions. The 28-year-old defensive midfielder, trained in Grenoble and passed through Brest, Oldham, and Bradford City, keeps fishing with his family in Brignoud, a small town in the Grenoble region. Hi Tim, can you already tell us how you are and how it's going for you at the moment? Listen it's fine, I went back to my family to spend time with them, I didn't want to be alone in England. Everyone is fine, everyone is healthy so that's the main thing in these difficult times.. Where are you geographically? I'm back in Brignoud, Brignoud City! It is in the Grenoble region in the Rhône-Alpes. This is where I grew up, where it all started with my first club, FC Villard Bonnot, where I started as a 2nd year goalkeeper. At the time, I was a fan of Barthez so I wanted to be a goalkeeper.. Timothée Dieng, at home, in "Brignoud City" You respect the confinement well? Yes totally, I put on the mask to go shopping because I think you shouldn't take risks and you have to respect the rules. Afterwards, when I go out to play sports, I confess that I do not put on a mask. I have a friend of mine who is a sports coach (Editor's note: Brian Kssantina@brkassantina on Instagram) and my brother who is a professional footballer (editor's note:Nathaniel Dieng evolves in Rodez in Ligue 2) is also here at the moment so we are doing sessions all 3 to keep in shape. We have a football field next to our house, there is an athletics track and all that, so we do our sessions there. How is your typical day of confined footballer? So I get up around noon, I have breakfast, it can be cereals, bread, always with tea, either green with mint or lemon, it's not bad, and I watch the news. Afterwards, we watch a series with the family, I eat, and in general we go to train at the stadium with my brother and my friend. We train for about an hour and I come home, sit down, watch TV or play Play, and then Brian does live sports sessions on Instagram for people who don't have a coach. I do the session with him, that gives me a second session during the day. It is good for people who are confined and who do not know how to organize their sessions. After that, we eat with the family, we play cards, Uno, we watch TV, and I go to bed quite late anyway, around 1 or 2 a.m. How do you motivate yourself to make the effort during a period of confinement?? Luckily my buddy is there, because frankly, for me it would have been harder to keep up a training rhythm without having someone to push me every day. Afterwards, for motivation, I already know that the championship can resume at any time and that at any time, I can receive a call to tell me that I have to go back because training resumes next week, so I have to keep fit. But even beyond that, training keeps you busy during confinement. How does the sequel look for you?? Football level we are clearly waiting. We don't know if the season will resume, when we can resume football, under what conditions, so frankly it's quite vague. For my part, my contract has been renewed for one season, which gives me some security. So I'm waiting for the Football League's decision to find out what will happen to football in England. You can talk to me about what you do during your training sessions We do a different session every day. There is the push session where we work a lot on the shoulders and chest, mainly with resistance bands, and the pull session which focuses on the back. We also have jogging sessions and sessions with a little ball, especially focused on liveliness where we work on support with ladders. In addition to that, in the sessions on Instagram it's different every day, and it alternates between the upper and lower body. I do this every day except Sunday. And how do you feel physically all of a sudden? I think I'm fine, after that it's sure it's not the same type of effort as in training so it's certain that the recovery will be hard, even if I think it will be the same for everyone. But I'm fine, I haven't gained much weight, we have to talk about that too, because it's true that I eat more than usual. You pay attention to food How do you control it? ? I am careful yes, I drink a lot of water already and I eat fairly balanced, with fruits, vegetables and all that. Afterwards there is a little more nibbling, it's true, but I try to be careful. Of course, he still has more dishes in sauce than usual. How do you maintain motivation in this particular environment?? Frankly, I'm not going to hide from you that it's hard mentally to push yourself. If I didn't have my buddy it would have been complicated. I would have gone eh, I would have respected the program that the club sent us, I would have done running sessions, but it would have been harder because you don't know how long the confinement will last, and that you tell yourself that you're doing this but that you don't know when you're going to resume. You have to stay strong in your head and tell yourself that all the sessions you do are not wasted work. If you don't do them, you'll come back to training rusty and you'll have wasted your time. Afterwards, being with the family is good, it allows you to recharge your batteries mentally, it's refreshing because I don't have the opportunity to see them very often. You received your FOOTBOKS, what did you think of it?? Yes, I tested the FOOTBOKS and I was really surprised by the quality of the products, it helped me a lot, I used everything. It's a good concept because I think there are a lot of people who don't know what to take when it comes to dietary supplements. This box is really complete and it brings everything you need to recover well and to prepare well for the competition. You have favorite products? I lovedOne Gum chewing gum to take before the sessions there, it really boosted me. The gels too, I already use them in clubs so I knew the effectiveness of these products, and after theprotein candy bars I liked them, they were really good. You took them at the end of the session or quietly for the 4 hours? At the end of training, but I admit that there is one that I took for the 4h, it's proteins wait! Can you take a picture for us?? Yeah of course, but hey, there's no hairdresser there huh (laughs), I'll surely put the cap on.
Learn moreLilian Brassier: "I'm thinking about the recovery"
Lilian Brassier #LB3 Lilian Brassier, 20 years old, confided in a confinement interview. The Stade Rennais side currently on loan at Valenciennes is ready for a possible resumption of the Ligue 2 championship. He is currently talking at home, in Argenteuil. Hi Lilian, how are you?? Hello everyone. Listen, I came back to the Paris region in Argenteuil, and we take care of ourselves as best we can, we are in confinement, we stay with the family and we try to maintain ourselves by playing sports. I enjoy family time, it feels good since I don't have the opportunity to be with them 24/7. Otherwise, from time to time during my sessions I meet childhood friends that I haven't seen for a long time, it's nice. How do you manage this confinement? I'm already staying at home as much as possible. I'm really careful when I go out, for example to go shopping, I put on a mask and I don't touch my face until I wash my hands and everything. Can you describe your typical day?? I do a little as if there was training in fact, from Monday to Friday I wake up around 9 a.m. and I have my breakfast, Special K cereals. I take that with a small clementine or an orange and I start my session sports around 10 a.m. It ends around 1 p.m. and I go to lunch quietly. Afterwards, I stay with my family for a while and take my nap until about 5 p.m. Behind, I take care as best I can, with Netflix, of documentaries or matches that are replayed on BeIN. In the evening, I go to bed around 11:30 p.m. or midnight, no later. On weekends I have a different rhythm, I shift everything a bit and I take more of my time. I start my sessions around 1 p.m., so I finish around 3-4 p.m. and the day is already quite busy. It's a little quieter. You manage to keep the motivation to train? Totally, after that I do a lot of sport with my brother, so I have a teammate. He likes to talk too so that helps. For motivation, I think you have to be focused, you know where you want to go, you know what you have to do, you're not there for nothing. There is a season that started a long time ago so it has to be finished, well that's how I see it. I'm thinking about recovery and that's how I stay focused on my goal. But I'm not hiding from you that I can't wait to get back to it, it's starting to get long. The days go by, we go on, but there are still two weeks left, I'm in a hurry! Games, training with teammates, it's missing. How does the sequel look for you?? I think we will first do a group preparation with the Valenciennes team at the end of confinement if the season resumes, which I hope. What is being said is that there may be a resumption of the championship in June, so we will have to be ready. Lilian Brassier during her training session Exactly, you think you will be physically ready How do you talk to yourself ? Yes of course I will be ready, I talk every day, I run, I do a lot of things so I haven't lost the rhythm. The club gave us a program so I stick to it every day. There is a bit of crossfit, support work, these are things that I like more so that's fine. Everything is done in body weight but since I even have a little equipment at home I have plenty to do, so I take advantage of it. What do you think of the FOOTBOKS concept? I had been told about it, telling me that it was products for athletes that made it possible to improve performance and optimize recovery. These are things that I really like, that I was already looking for myself. Afterwards, in the box there is a bit of everything, it's really complete and you know what you have to take and when to take it. The product guide helps a lot because I won't hide from you that at first I hadn't mastered everything, but I took the time to read it and it's really not bad. Invisible work is important to you? Totally, this is what allows you to be good on the ground. Without that I don't think you can be at your best on match days and in training. You have to know how to manage yourself while giving the maximum. Personally, I am mainly focused on sleep and recovery, especially with cold baths and good recovery products. In terms of food, it's true that I'm not yet a super good cook, but it will come. You have to put all the chances on your side.
Learn moreAlexander Broquet: "Football is also about invisible work"
Alexander Broquet, 19, left side of AS Poissy in N2 tells us about his confinement. Passed by the US Villejuif and the training center of Amiens, the young player is back at home in Saint-Maur where he imposes a daily discipline to keep the rhythm despite the cessation of competitions. Hi Alex, how are you? It's going great, I'm in great shape, I went home to Saint-Maur in the 94. When I saw that the season was over I came back to spend the rest of the confinement with the family. Everything is going well? Yes everything is going well, I respect the confinement well, I stay at home, I just go out to run, I do rounds of the block, I really stay close. I respect the instructions as much as possible, the most important thing is health and staying at home, so stay at home ». How is your typical day going? I usually get up around 11 a.m. or noon, I still rest, huh! Afterwards I either have a kind of very English brunch, so a good breakfast with cakes and fruit juice to take vitamins, or I just have a coffee and we eat with the family around 1-2 p.m. I do my sessions at the end of the afternoon around 5-6 p.m., it's sunny and it's not too hot so it's ideal. After my sessions I always end up with muscle strengthening, it's important. I really try to do it every day so as not to lose muscle mass, that's the key during this confinement. I continue with a small shower, we eat as a family and I watch TV or series, and I generally go to bed around 1 or 2 a.m. It's quite late but with confinement it's complicated to keep a rhythm where you get up early and go to bed early. How does the sequel look for you?? The N2 championship was stopped and the rankings stopped on the 21st day, so the season is over. It's a little frustrating that it ended like this but hey, we held on by finishing 13th. I think we deserved better but in the end the maintenance is the main thing. Now we try to stay in shape, to prepare for next season. There is nothing fixed for me for the future, I have contacts with several clubs so I am preparing myself well physically and mentally. I always have new goals to achieve and it seems important to me to keep in shape for my future sports project. Alexander Broquet in the colors of AS Poissy Precisely, how do you maintain yourself during confinement? Already these are individual sessions because confinement requires it. Afterwards, I am lucky to have a garden so I do small personalized sessions with the ball. But otherwise it's either 45 min jogging with reinforcement behind, or aerobic work so 15/15 in the form of sprints, with 15 seconds of effort and 15 seconds of recovery, or 30/15 with support work. I try to vary the sessions as much as I can so as not to get tired of repetition. As soon as I finish my jogging or my aerobic session, I continue with upper or lower body strengthening work to keep in top shape. How do you maintain motivation in this particular environment?? You just have to stay mentally strong, especially since personally I was in a good dynamic, I felt good, there were about ten games left to play so it's very frustrating not to be able to finish this season. I manage to stay serious but mentally it requires an extra effort, it's always more pleasant to train as a team when you practice a collective sport. You have been part of the FOOTBOKS adventure from the start, can you tell us a bit about it?? Yes it's true that I had the chance to be among the first to test the FOOTBOKS, I immediately liked the project, I directly joined. I found the concept really interesting for the performance of footballers and athletes in general. In terms of products, it's great for performance, it boosts well with a real energy supply on products such as gels, drinks, and chewing gum also before the match or training session. It also helps to optimize recovery, when the body is tired there are products that help a lot. There is really quality in the boxes, with products that are used in particular in pro clubs. I am thinking of the Science in Sport products that are used at Manchester United and other big clubs. It's really effective. Alexander Broquet in confinement Which products did you like the most?? I have little favorites, I love themenergizing chewing gum, it's really my must have, before training or games, if I don't have my little chewing gum it's not the same. Caffeine brings a plus, it allows me to concentrate well, I feel good.Gels are great too, you take it before the match or at half-time it boosts you and it gives you the little more energy. Recovery level if I feel a little discomfort or a little pain I use thearnica cream where thecryo freeze, it allows me to recover well. All the products really optimize performance and recovery and that's what makes the difference. How do you manage the invisible work? Behind the matches and training there is a lot of work and discipline. I don't drink alcohol, I've never smoked in my life, I think it's important for the body. Sleep well, be aware that football is not just the pitch, football is also all the invisible work, your recovery. We do not see the athlete who does his strengthening sessions behind his training, the one who pays attention to his diet, but that is what is important. I try to respect all of this and in confinement, I limit food by trying not to eat too much! It was Easter with chocolate, so I was really careful.
