Lilian Brassier: "I'm thinking about the recovery"

    Lilian Brassier #LB3

Lilian Brassier, 20 years old, confided in a confinement interview. The Stade Rennais side currently on loan at Valenciennes is ready for a possible resumption of the Ligue 2 championship. He is currently talking at home, in Argenteuil.

    Hi Lilian, how are you??

Hello everyone. Listen, I came back to the Paris region in Argenteuil, and we take care of ourselves as best we can, we are in confinement, we stay with the family and we try to maintain ourselves by playing sports. I enjoy family time, it feels good since I don't have the opportunity to be with them 24/7. Otherwise, from time to time during my sessions I meet childhood friends that I haven't seen for a long time, it's nice.

How do you manage this confinement?

I'm already staying at home as much as possible. I'm really careful when I go out, for example to go shopping, I put on a mask and I don't touch my face until I wash my hands and everything.

Can you describe your typical day??

I do a little as if there was training in fact, from Monday to Friday I wake up around 9 a.m. and I have my breakfast, Special K cereals. I take that with a small clementine or an orange and I start my session sports around 10 a.m. It ends around 1 p.m. and I go to lunch quietly. Afterwards, I stay with my family for a while and take my nap until about 5 p.m. Behind, I take care as best I can, with Netflix, of documentaries or matches that are replayed on BeIN. In the evening, I go to bed around 11:30 p.m. or midnight, no later. On weekends I have a different rhythm, I shift everything a bit and I take more of my time. I start my sessions around 1 p.m., so I finish around 3-4 p.m. and the day is already quite busy. It's a little quieter.

You manage to keep the motivation to train?

Totally, after that I do a lot of sport with my brother, so I have a teammate. He likes to talk too so that helps. For motivation, I think you have to be focused, you know where you want to go, you know what you have to do, you're not there for nothing. There is a season that started a long time ago so it has to be finished, well that's how I see it. I'm thinking about recovery and that's how I stay focused on my goal. But I'm not hiding from you that I can't wait to get back to it, it's starting to get long. The days go by, we go on, but there are still two weeks left, I'm in a hurry! Games, training with teammates, it's missing.

How does the sequel look for you??

I think we will first do a group preparation with the Valenciennes team at the end of confinement if the season resumes, which I hope. What is being said is that there may be a resumption of the championship in June, so we will have to be ready.

Lilian Brassier during her training session

Exactly, you think you will be physically ready How do you talk to yourself ?

Yes of course I will be ready, I talk every day, I run, I do a lot of things so I haven't lost the rhythm. The club gave us a program so I stick to it every day. There is a bit of crossfit, support work, these are things that I like more so that's fine. Everything is done in body weight but since I even have a little equipment at home I have plenty to do, so I take advantage of it.

What do you think of the FOOTBOKS concept?

I had been told about it, telling me that it was products for athletes that made it possible to improve performance and optimize recovery. These are things that I really like, that I was already looking for myself. Afterwards, in the box there is a bit of everything, it's really complete and you know what you have to take and when to take it. The product guide helps a lot because I won't hide from you that at first I hadn't mastered everything, but I took the time to read it and it's really not bad.

Invisible work is important to you?

Totally, this is what allows you to be good on the ground. Without that I don't think you can be at your best on match days and in training. You have to know how to manage yourself while giving the maximum. Personally, I am mainly focused on sleep and recovery, especially with cold baths and good recovery products. In terms of food, it's true that I'm not yet a super good cook, but it will come. You have to put all the chances on your side.
