Born in 98 in Abidjan,Stephane Diarra started his career at AS Saint Priest in the Lyon suburbs between 2009 and 2014. The winger was then trained at Evian Thonon Gaillard where he discovered the professional world (6 Ligue 2 matches) before taking the road to Stade Rennes in 2016 at the age of 17.
In Brittany, he trains with the pro group but evolves with the reserve, so he is loaned to Le Mans in National during the 2018/2019 season to save playing time. He reveals himself to the general public, signing in stride a contract with the Sang et Or mounted in Ligue 2 on the last day of the championship, a team with which he will play more than 60 games.
Despite the return of Le Mans to the National the following season, in 2019-2020, Stéphane Diarra caught the eye of several elite clubs and chose to join theFC Lorient in Ligue 1 where he plays withour godfather Yoane Wissa.
