Frequently asked questions
What exactly is SiS REGO Rapid Recovery?
Science in Sport's REGO Rapid Recovery is a complete recovery drink to take straight after exercise. It combines soy protein, carbohydrates, electrolytes and a blend of vitamins and minerals. The aim: to refill your energy stores (glycogen), repair your muscles and be ready sooner for your next session or match.
What does a serving of REGO Rapid Recovery contain?
A 50 g serving provides 20 g of soy protein enriched with L-leucine, 22 g of carbohydrate, electrolytes (sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium) and vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, which supports the immune system, and vitamin B6, which helps reduce tiredness. All for about 184 kcal and just 1.3 g of fat.
How and when should I take REGO Rapid Recovery?
Mix 50 g of powder (two scoops) into 500 ml of cold water, shake in a shaker and drink straight away. The best time is within 30 minutes of the end of your training session or match, when your muscles are most receptive. For precise dosing, it is best to weigh the powder.
Why combine carbohydrates and protein after exercise?
During exercise, your body draws on its glycogen stores: carbohydrates are used to rebuild them quickly. Protein provides the amino acids needed to repair and rebuild muscle fibres. Together, they support a more complete recovery than a simple protein drink or sugary drink.
Is REGO Rapid Recovery suitable for footballers?
Yes, it is one of its favourite uses. After a match or an intense session, it helps refill energy and limit muscle fatigue, which is valuable when training sessions and matches come thick and fast, in tournaments or during weeks with two matches. It is also suitable for endurance sports such as running, cycling or triathlon.
Is it suitable for vegans and people who are lactose intolerant?
Yes. REGO Rapid Recovery is formulated with soy protein and contains no milk protein: it is therefore suitable for vegans and people who are lactose intolerant. Be careful with allergies, however: it contains soy. Like any food supplement, it does not replace a varied and balanced diet.
Is REGO Rapid Recovery allowed in competition?
Yes. The product is Informed Sport certified: every batch is tested for substances banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency. This is an important safety guarantee for players and athletes subject to anti-doping controls.
How many servings are in a tub and which size should I choose?
The 500 g tub contains 10 servings of 50 g, ideal for regular use after every training session or match. The 50 g sachet is a single serving: perfect for trying a flavour or slipping into your kit bag for match day.
Which flavours are available and does it mix well?
REGO Rapid Recovery comes in three flavours: chocolate, strawberry and vanilla. It dissolves easily in cold water and gives a smooth, lump-free texture in just a few seconds in a shaker.
What is the difference compared with a simple whey protein?
A whey mainly provides protein. REGO Rapid Recovery is a complete recovery drink: in addition to protein, it contains carbohydrates to refill glycogen, electrolytes to make up for sweat losses, and vitamins and minerals. It is the ideal choice straight after intense or long exercise, where a whey on its own does not cover all your needs.
