Gabriel Mutombo, 24, is a central defender at ESTAC Troyes, current leader of league 2. Born on January 19, 1996 in Villeurbanne in the suburbs of Lyon, he spent 10 years at the Olympique Lyonnais academy. The young defender then completed his training at SCO Angers.
In 2016, he was loaned to CA Bastia to hone his skills nationally. He will play 24 games there. On his return, he was loaned again but to US Orléans in Ligue 2 where he discovered the professional level. At the end of the season, US Orléans decides to keep the solid central defender who is definitely committing to the club for three years. Gabriel Mutombo has had a successful 2018-2019 season with 31 games on the clock. Despite this, the USO finished red lantern in league 2 when the championship stopped last March.
After three seasons and 47 games in Orléans, the 1m91 colossus decides to take up a new challenge and settles down in Troyes in the summer of 2020 for two years. A paying choice since ESTAC currently occupies the leading roles in Ligue 2 BKT.
